Williamsburg was a pretty important town back in the "Washington and the beginning of our country" days. It served as the capital of Virginia in about 1699, then became the meeting place for many talks with Patrick Henry, George Washington, George Mason, and Thomas Jefferson.
There were horse and buggies riding all over, Avery LOVED it!
A few shots of the old buildings around the main road.
Govenor's Palace
This was the original church building.
Afterwards, we got on a ferry (first for all of us) and headed home, it was very neat and very exciting for me the kids
We were able to feed the seagulls that were following the back of the ferry,
the kids got a huge kick out of it!
My little "Newsie" (loved that movie growing up)
He's so very handsome!
A little pool time
THE FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN!
Eating a healthy oatmeal breakfast
They love each other so much....though I think Avery was trying to get away...
That's my girl, a little serious...a lot goofy!
What a ham!
Trying to catch a few Zzz's before school
So most everyone who reads the blog know that we had Hurricane Irene come through the east coast...here are some pics of the 'damage'....were about 100 miles away, so really Hurricane Avery and Hurricane Abigail do worse damage....
Picking up the leaves little twigs in the backyard
Avery figured he did enough work, it was time to swing!
Ok, this is about the extent of the damage,(the broom was being used by Avery, but he got tired)so we got out unharmed, but as you know on the news, sadly, that wasn't the case for everyone.
Peeking out of the fort we bult, the kids love playing in forts!
Little sweet feet sticking out!
